Kamil Dąbek
A graduate of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, where he studied piano with Mateusz Borowiak and Szczepan Kończal, and chamber music with Krzysztof Książek, Marek Moś, and Joanna Galon-Frant.
His repertoire includes works by composers such as W. A. Mozart, F. Schubert, J. Brahms, and F. Chopin, with a special place reserved for the music of Nikolai Medtner.
For Kamil Dąbek, communication, coherence, and sincerity of musical expression are essential in every performance. In studying a piece, he strives for the deepest possible understanding in order to convey it using the most appropriate interpretative means—so that it most faithfully reflects the composer’s vision. His interests also extend to the practice of performing on historical pianos, which allows him to present works in the sound world of their original era. His guide through the realm of early music is Katarzyna Drogosz.
